The number of teenagers automatically transferred to adult criminal court in Cook County has stayed relatively steady over the past five years, as have the types of offenses they are charged with committing. Teenagers chaged with drug crimes make up the biggest share.

Notes: The breakdown of charges shows the crimes for which 383 teenagers were charged as adults in 2003. The outcomes of drug cases include case outcomes for the 191 teenagers charged with drug crimes whose cases were completed in 2003. There were 53 additional teenagers charged in 2003 who are still awaiting the completion of their cases.
