Election Time. Voters are to head to the polls on Tuesday. On the primary's ballot are several local contests, but the most-watched race is the 2nd Congressional District. Former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. stepped down from the seat in November. He and his wife have pleaded guilty in federal court to criminal charges. Disparate Impact. Can public housing racially discriminate? Find out this week what our reporter Megan Cottrell uncovered about a standard known as disparate impact. Illinois Out of the Shadows. Undocumented immigrants will speak about facing deportation and how they came out on top at the first event for National Coming Out of the Shadows month, which starts in March. The event will take place at Broadview Immigration Detention Center; the last place many immigrants go before being deported. Cuts. With another round of federal budget cuts looming, activists are calling for the Pentagon to take some cuts during a national day of action on Wednesday.
