The Reporter Racks Up Honors

Reporter Jeff Kelly Lowenstein and Managing Editor Rui Kaneya, along with Colorlines magazine’s former editor Tram Nguyen, captured the Chicago Headline Club’s 2008 Watchdog Award for Excellence in Public Interest Reporting for “Missed Signals.” The honor was delivered at the conclusion of the 31st annual Peter Lisagor Awards for Exemplary Journalism on April 25.

Senior Editor Kimbriell Kelly and Editor and Publisher Alden Loury also captured a Lisagor for business reporting for “The High Price of Home Ownership,” and Kelly Lowenstein, Kelly and Angelica Herrera won a Lisagor for in-depth reporting for their work in the Chicago Matters series on immigration.
