How? Donate or subscribe to The Chicago Reporter.

The Ford Foundation, McCormick Foundation and Ethics & Excellence in Journalism Foundation have issued The Chicago Reporter a challenge grant—and an opportunity—to raise $75,000 in new revenue over the next two years. The foundations will match that new revenue up to $75,000.

The Chicago Reporter is privately funded by a small cadre of individual donors and foundation grantors, where competition for scarce funds continues to grow. We depend on contributions from readers like you – people who want to continue reading the Reporter in order to remain savvy about city, regional and state politics and policies; be well informed by up-to-date data and analysis; and understand how [and why] social and economic opportunities and progress are not always equitably distributed across the region.

Every dollar you donate represents an investment in information gathering and dissemination – to you, of course, and also to elected and appointed officials, policy makers, and civic and community leaders. Your support helps to continue a 38-year-old tradition of unflinching, in-depth and objective reporting on race and poverty in the Chicago area.
