Arrested, Charged and Imprisoned

In 2000, African Americans accounted for four of every five people the Chicago Police Department arrested for drug offenses. But they made up an even greater share of those charged with drug offenses by Cook County prosecutors and those sentenced to prison by Circuit Court of Cook County judges.
