High-cost havens

A higher percentage of mortgages in South and West side Chicago neighborhoods and suburbs were high-cost loans in 2006.

Note: Data includes conventional, first-lien, home purchase, home improvement and refinancing loans for owner-occupied, one-to-four unit family properties. Community area and municipality totals include census tract totals for all census tracts, in full or in part, included in the community area or municipality. Only municipalities with at least 25,000 residents are included.
