Out of Prison, Out of Work

Ex-offenders on parole in Cook County are less likely to find jobs than their counterparts throughout the rest of Illinois. However, the employment rate of parolees has fallen statewide in each of the past two years. And the percentage of working parolees with full-time jobs has dropped each year since fiscal year 2000.
