Posted On: October 1, 2009Originally published as part of the September, 2009 Issue The Chicago Reporter analyzed federal home mortgage lending data released Wednesday by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, on six geographies: the nation and metropolitan divisions in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia. The Reporter based its approval rates on the number of originations; loans that were approved but not accepted by applicants; and loans denied in each of those geographies. The Reporter counted only applications for owner-occupied manufactured housing or owner-occupied one-to-four families.
