This episode of the Barber Shop Show is straight out of the current issue of The Chicago Reporter.
The Reporter's Angela Caputo analyzed the outcome of misconduct lawsuits filed against the Chicago Police Department. The Reporter found that about a quarter of the damages CPD paid out were for cases involving “repeaters”—officers named in more than one misconduct suit. The Reporter also found that the majority of this small but costly group of officers—about 80%—are still on the job today.
Caputo joins us at the shop to discuss her findings.
