Cornelia Grumman

Cornelia Grumman has been named director of policy and strategic communications at the University of Chicago Urban Education Institute. Grumman previously served as the founding executive director of the First Five Years Fund and before that was a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist at the Chicago Tribune.  In her new role, she will spearhead national outreach to policymakers and educators who can put the Institute’s findings into action. 

Frank Gettridge, the former principal at Barton Elementary, is now a program officer at the Kellogg Foundation.  Joan Dameron Crisler is Barton’s interim principal.  Crisler was once the principal at Dixon Elementary and the managing director of two Chicago principal training programs.
