Two former deputy chiefs have been promoted to network chief. Minerva Garcia-Sanchez will lead Network 7, a West Side area that includes Pilsen and Little Village schools; previously she was deputy chief in Network 10 on the Southwest Side. Donell Underdue will become chief of Network 10 after serving as deputy chief of Network 3, which includes schools on the West and Northwest sides.
Paul Osland will become the chief facilities officer, moving over from his role as the executive director of transportation.
New hire Michael Moss will be the budget director. He previously worked as an associate director in the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget under both Gov. Bruce Rauner and former Gov. Pat Quinn.
Several principals have obtained four-year contracts at new schools. Michael Beyer will lead Ogden International School, an elementary and high school, moving over from Morrill Math & Science Elementary.
Beth Bazer will head LaSalle Elementary Language Academy after working as the assistant principal at Hawthorne Scholastic Academy, an elementary magnet school.
George Chipain is becoming principal at Prussing Elementary from assistant principal at Thorp Elementary.
Seth Lavin will lead Brentano Math & Science Academy Elementary after serving as resident principal at Park Manor Elementary.
Lorianne Zaimi will become principal at Peirce International Studies Elementary from assistant principal at Boone Elementary.
Four interim principals will become contract principals: Trista Harper at Manley High School; Sherry Pirtle at Haley Elementary; Marilou Rebolledo at Jackson Elementary Language Academy; and Janice Wells at South Shore High School.
Three assistant principals have been promoted to contract principals: Raquel Davis at Mount Vernon Elementary; Jennifer Laurincik at Clay Elementary; and Laura Paull at Twain Elementary.*
