Paul Goren

Paul Goren has been appointed vice president for research and knowledge utilization at the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Previously, Goren served as a senior advisor to Chicago Public Schools and prior to that, was the director of the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research. Goren has also worked for the Spencer and the MacArthur foundations.

Jennifer Schneider is the development director at CASEL. Previously, she worked at the Chicago Public Education Fund, where she led investment relations and managed grant-making activities.

John Price, CPS deputy chief of schools, has been named chief of elementary schools for the Burnham Park Elementary Network.  Price is a former principal of Audubon Elementary. 

Marvin Hoffman, an associate director of the University of Chicago’s Urban Teacher Education Program, is the co-editor of a new book, “Starting Up: Critical Lessons from 10 New Schools.”  Three of the 10 profiles are on Chicago schools: North Kenwood Oakland Charter School, Social Justice High School and the City as Classroom Charter School.
