Nominations are due by April 30th for the six community-selected slots on CPS’ Local School Council Advisory Board, the body that acts as a liaison between LSCs and the district. Terms for the current board end June 30. Educators, parents and community members interested in serving on the board must submit a nomination form to the Department of LSC Relations.

Nominations are due by April 30th for the six community-selected slots on CPS’ Local School Council Advisory Board, the body that acts as a liaison between LSCs and the district. Terms for the current board end June 30. Educators, parents and community members interested in serving on the board must submit a nomination form to the Department of LSC Relations by 3 p.m. on April 30. Voting will be open to current LSC members at their schools, from May 12 through May 22. CPS will host community forums where the nominees can present their qualifications to voters. Voters will elect one candidate from each of the district’s six areas, and CPS will appoint an additional nine individuals to the board. The election results will be announced after the board finalizes its appointments in early June. The new board will serve through 2011.
