Mark Neidlinger, principal of Drummond Montessori in Bucktown, the first public Montessori school in Chicago, is leaving the school in October.  He is taking a principal position in a public Montessori school in western Michigan.

Alfred Tatum has been named interim dean of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Tatum, an associate professor, is also the director of UIC’s reading clinic.  UIC Education Dean Victoria Chou retired in August. 

Lee Hart, the executive director of High Jump, has been named a 2013 Judith O’Connor Scholar by BoardSource, a national resource organization for non-profit boards.  As a scholar, Hart will participate in BoardSource’s annual leadership forum, which will be held in November.  The forum gives scholars opportunities to advance their leadership skills, learn about progressive practices in good governance and interact with nonprofit sector leaders from around the country. High Jump is a tuition-free academic enrichment program for middle school students with limited family resources.

Laurence Msall of the Civic Federation, Anne-Marie St. Germaine of Resolute Consulting and Phil Thomas of eta Creative Arts Foundation are new board members at the Woods Fund of Chicago.
