Three nonprofit leaders who have made strides in education havereceived fellowships from The Chicago Community Trust. They are: Sylvia Puente, executive director of the Latino Policy Forum, which advocates for better education and housing for Latinos; Gabrielle Lyon,co-founder and executive director of Project Exploration, a scienceeducation program aimed at girls and minority communities; and Jaime de Leonof Enlace Chicago, previously known as Little Village CommunityDevelopment Corporation, which organized a hunger strike that promptedCPS to build a new high school.
