About 200 parents and students, members of Brighton Park Neighborhood Council and Raise Your Hand, gathered in front of Chicago Board of Education President David Vitale’s office today. They protested recent school budget cuts, including a $4 million funding cut at Kelly High School. Yesterday, CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett announced that she was distributing $36 million in state funds early to help schools with their budgeting process.
